Praying for Pregnant Women In Haiti

There have been some developments...

We've had quite a few changes since I posted in February. Our son has had two surgeries. Both have been successful. He had eye muscle surgery in March. Recovery from the anesthesia wasn't much fun, but he has done well. Then in May, he had surgery to get ear tubes. This surgery was a much easier procedure for him.

My husband and I became foster parents. It is a process we started in 2009, but we had been plodding along at completing the mountain of required paperwork. We've had some respite placements and a couple of longer placements. Right now we have 3 little ones who keep us very busy! We have 4 children in the house age 7 and under...

AND.....

Two weeks after the first long term foster care placement arrived, we found out that we are expecting. Zoiks! We are delighted, but it was completely unexpected as we have been trying to have another child for nearly 3 years without success. After a few nervous weeks, we heard the heartbeat at 8 weeks 6 days at my first ultrasound. I am now 15 weeks, 1 day pregnant and things seem to be going well. The little one should join us sometime in February. We won't be able to find out the gender until 26-28 weeks when my doctor schedules my next (and final) ultrasound.
